Advanced Features for Remote Desktop Control |
|
| Bomgar enables support technicians to control remote computers over the internet or network.
With Bomgar you can support remote desktops, backend servers, network devices, smartphones and systems outside the network – all from one screen! And Bomgar works on Windows, Mac, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and multiple Linux distros. |

More Cutting-Edge TechnologyBomgar typically ships two major releases a year. Each time we update our remote support software, customers get serious innovation and significant enhancements – not just cosmetic changes. Here are a few examples of some recent features. |
|
The Remote Support Appliance™Bomgar was the first to introduce an appliance-based approach to remote support. Our patented deployment model – The Bomgar Box™ – continues to be the most secure option for deploying remote support.
The Bomgar Box resides at your facility under the security measures already in place. Bomgar offers more control over security, giving you a safe way to integrate remote support with identity management and making it easy to export reporting data and videos for a complete audit trail. |
Mac Support, Before It Was Popular
Bomgar introduced remote support for Mac in 2006, long before it was popular and over two years before GoToAssist™. Unlike other remote desktop control software, Bomgar works almost the same on Mac as it does on Windows. Recent enhancements to Bomgar’s remote Mac support include:
Mac Elevation: Elevate privileges on a remote Mac desktop System Info for Mac: Scan deep system details in 1 click Mac Rep Console: Control remote desktops from a Mac Training and Presentation: Offer remote training from a Mac Mac Jump Client: Get remote access to unattended Macs Command Prompt: Troubleshoot a Mac via command shell |
Collaborate With Absolutely AnyoneCritical support incidents can require the combined attention of multiple technicians. A single incident could involve multiple groups in the organization, representatives from more than one branch office, or even a vendor.
Bomgar’s patent-pending Rep Invite feature lets an internal support technician send anyone a one-time-only collaboration invitation. Administrators can set strict security rules for invited reps and report on every detail of the support sessions they join.
|
Broad Remote Desktop Support for LinuxBomgar is certified on multiple Linux distros and works on dozens more. Unlike some solutions that stop with basic support, Bomgar offers largely the same features for Linux as it does for Windows and Mac.
With Bomgar, support technicians can control an unattended Linux server in the datacenter, a Mac laptop at a Wi-Fi hotspot or a roaming BlackBerry device from anywhere in the world. |
Unattended Remote Access Included
Not all remote support sessions have a confused human on the other end. Often technicans need remote access to unattended remote desktops or servers in the datacenter. Bomgar lets support technicians can gain remote desktop control of unattended computers and servers through firewalls with our patent-pending Jump Technology. Other remote access solutions make you pay for every remote desktop or server you need to access. But Jump Technology is included in every Bomgar license. In many cases, Jump enables remote access with no pre-installed client on the remote computer.

Vendor Access ManagementA patchwork of VPNs and legacy remote control utilities (like VNC or RDP) is not the most secure setup for letting in vendors to support critical 3rd party applications in your network. It’s your data. It’s your network. It’s your neck on the line. Shouldn’t vendors use a remote support tool YOU trust?
Bomgar’s patent-pending Embassy™ feature lets you manage vendors’ access into your network at a granular level. Create an Embassy for each of your vendors and set specific security parameters for each, such as whether or not the vendor will have full remote control or view only access. Embassy also lets you report on and audit vendor activity. It even produces videos of every remote support session involving a vendor. |
Respond Quickly to Changes in Load
Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday may be the only spike in incident volume your support organization can predict. Equilibrium is Bomgar’s new load-balancing feature for high-volume support desks. It automatically distributes incidents within a team to the next available rep. Equilibrium can be set to enable only one session per rep or allow reps to handle multiple sessions simultaneously.
|
Resolve More in 1st Tier
Every time an incident is needlessly escalated to a higher tier, your support organization loses money. Bomgar’s patent-pending feature, Access Sponsor, lets first tier reps troubleshoot deeper without knowing credentials. Reps from lower tiers can request temporary elevated access to remote desktops from designated “Access Sponsors”.
